How much does a Guardas do Berço puppy cost?
The price varies with the litter, bloodline and genetic investment involved, and is communicated directly to families on the waiting list. It always includes: parents' genetic tests, full Puppy Culture socialization, vaccination, deworming, health booklet, contract with guarantees and lifetime support.
Mini Aussie or Australian Shepherd — which should I choose?
It depends on your lifestyle, not the size of your home. The Mini Aussie (7–14 kg) is easier in urban settings and travel; the Australian Shepherd (16–32 kg) has more presence and needs more exercise. Temperament is almost identical. Talk to me — I'll help you decide.
Do these breeds adapt to apartments?
Yes — both, including the Australian Shepherd. What decides is the bloodline and consistent daily exercise, not the size of your home. I have dogs of both breeds living happily in apartments.
Are they good with children?
Excellent — with proper socialization from puppyhood. My puppies grow up with my four children and arrive at their families already used to kids.
How does the waiting list work?
You fill in the form, we talk, and if we're a match you get a place for the next compatible litter. When the litter is born you follow everything with weekly photos and videos. The final match is made around week 7, based on each puppy's temperament.
Can I pick my puppy from a photo?
No — and that's one of the best things we do for you. I assess each puppy's temperament individually and match families with the right puppy for their life. Colour is the last thing that matters across 15 years together.
Are the parents tested?
Yes — every breeding dog goes through a complete health and genetic evaluation before any litter. It’s the foundation of everything I do. Want details about a specific dog? Just ask.
Do you deliver puppies outside Portugal?
Yes, with proper transport and documentation. We already have Guardas do Berço families in several countries. Contact me for your specific case.
Do the dogs really live in your home?
Yes. My dogs sleep in the house, live with my children and are part of the family routine. There are no kennels here. And you can see it every day on my social media — real life, no filters. We also do video calls so you can meet the dogs live.
What if one day I can't keep the dog?
You talk to me — always. A Guardas do Berço dog is never left without a solution. It's part of the lifelong commitment I make to every puppy born here.
