Our Dogs
Every Guardas do Berço dog was personally chosen, with years of waiting and uncompromising standards. They all live with us, in our home. All tested. All loved.
No exceptions. These are the tests every dog passes before joining the breeding programme:

You won't find a catalogue here. We introduce the ones who define who we are — one by one, with their true story.

Lexi was never part of the plan. No list, no rational decision. I saw her once — those blue eyes looking up at me — and felt something I cannot explain: she is mine.
I tried to bring her home. The first time, I could not. And when I was finally ready — she had been sold one hour earlier. One hour. I cried as if I had lost something I never even had.
Months later, the phone rang. Lexi had not settled into the family she was with. And the question was simple: do you want her? Three days later she walked through my door as if she had always lived here.
Today she is my shadow. Always watching over us, endlessly tender with the children, with a sensitivity that cannot be trained — you are born with it. She is living proof of what I believe: when something is meant to happen, it happens.
Lexi was not chosen. She was returned to the place she always belonged.

Ari existed in my mind first. For a long time I dreamed her in detail: the exact sweetness, the temperament, the way she would be with children, the presence. I was not looking for a dog — I was looking for that dog. And I refused to settle for less.
When I finally found her, I understood why the wait was worth every single day.
Ari is pure sweetness. Gentle like few others, playful like an eternal puppy, and so tender with children that she disarms anyone. She is the kind of dog that never goes unnoticed: wherever she goes, heads turn and the questions begin — "what dog is that?"
But the most beautiful thing about her is not what you see in the street. It is what you see at home — the endless patience with the kids, the joy she brings to every single day.
Lexi taught me that destiny exists. Ari proved to me that dreaming with high standards works too.
Our males are introduced one by one — each with his own story. We begin with Bentley.

Bentley didn't just appear. He was searched for. For a long time I scoured the world looking for something very specific: agility bloodlines, a quick, bright mind, and that rare ability to adapt to anything — city or countryside, calm or adventure.
When I found him, I knew at first sight: it was him.
Bentley learns at a speed that still surprises me — show him once, and it's done. He loves water like few dogs I've ever known. And he has a gift that can't be taught: wherever he goes, everyone wants to touch him. He's everyone's favourite — and he knows it, and gives it all back.
Among our males, Bentley is the one nobody forgets once they have met him.
His intelligence, he passes on. His sweetness too. The charm — that one is his alone.
This is what our puppies learn from their mothers before they go to their families.

Our dogs are champions and multi-champions in countries around the world. We take part in dog shows across Portugal and Europe for one simple reason: it's where our work is validated by international judges — structure, temperament, beauty, all assessed by the people who know best.
And shows have another role I love: they let people meet and see the breed live. Want to see our dogs in action? Ask me where we'll be next.
But more important than any title: they live. Beach, mountains, travel, walks with children. That real life makes them the extraordinary parents they are.
